The U.der Beoretary of State for the Colonies

4th Feb 1915
Captain Cassel etated that in view of the standing of our Company he thought the difficulty in question could be got
over,
and that he would see what he could do to that end.
The Government Department at that point in charge of such matters, advised him however that nothing could be done there as they were guided entirely by instructions from London. He stated that if we took the matter up direct with you we might obtain a satisfactory result, and we feel confident that if all the circumstances are taken into consideration you will
allow the regietration of the address.
We have been in consultation with the American Consul General, ir Skinner, in this city, and he states that he will be writing you fully on the matter,
We trust that you will be able to notify us in due
course that it will be in order for the Cable Company in Hong Kong to effect the necessary registration of AEXCO.
P.
Yours very truly, AMERICA" EXPRESS COMPANY
